We chatted briefly about music on the podcast but I thought I'd delve in a bit deeper.
Music is something that is incredibly ingrained in me.
Growing up I was surrounded by every type of music. Classical music is something that runs through my veins but so does a lot of other music.
My parents introduced me to the classics (rock, and classical), my brother introduce me to rap and house, other family members and friends introduced me to a plethora of other genres. Music from musicals is something that is part of my daily rotation too.
If you look at mine (or Evan's) music libraries.. we've got it all. (This made choosing wedding music an absolute nightmare.) Speaking of our music libraries... it isn't just files on computers or playlists on streaming services... we've got records, cassettes and cds too.
This is a common theme with us Cousin's too - we can go from listening to classical music to rap in .5 seconds.
Classical music particularly is something that has given me so much. I've played violin since I was 2.5 years old. Violin helped me find some amazing friends, took me through amazing opportunities in high school, and has allowed me to play with a variety of amazing artists. It's a general consensus that I left that part of my life behind but I haven't (spoiler alert) I still play in my own time; for myself, by myself.
Music is really healing for me; from meditation music to screaming at the top of my lungs. It's therapeutic in so many ways. One of my favourite things to do is throw on some tunes, hop on my bike, and decompress.
Going to concerts also tops my list. I'm always pumped for a show, whether it be classical or classic rock. I've been lucky to see SO many amazing artists live! Pictured above is Evan's first time at an outdoor festival in 2019. We went to 90's Nostalgia and had a blast.

How has music influenced you and your life? What are some of your "go to" tunes?
