Riding on the Bus

We've already recorded a few travel stories but there are always more. I ride the bus a lot. I ride the city bus, I was a frequent greyhound bus rider, I've enjoyed city transit in other cities. I've also flown quite often and thoroughly enjoy train travel as well. When you say "riding the bus" the first image that comes to mind for a lot of people is something that is lesser; and sometimes it can be, I've had my fair share of bearing witness to bad situations. I often cite this clip from Family Guy as how some people see the bus. Sometimes though, you end up with solid gold experiences. When the Greyhound stopped service routes, our community was quickly cut off for a lot of travelers. There was quite a large outcry, this effectively cut off people who traveled for pleasure but also those who traveled out of necessity. That is a blog for another time though. Thankfully, Northland has now resumed many of these routes as well as a lovely local company, Kasper Transportation Services. I look forward to bus travel, I didn't think I would miss it as much as I have. I have a lot of travel stories tucked away. Some are golden, some are strange. Most of these stories aren't even mine, they've just been told to me by people that I've met while traveling. They're best to hear them, but for those of you craving more stories right now I thought I'd just link to my other blog for your reading pleasure. Please enjoy, The Road Less Traveled -L
